Islamabad, May 16 (UNI) A woman was killed and nearly a dozen people, including a police officer was killed in a blast that ripped through Karachi's crowded Bolton Market on Monday evening, Geo News reported. While the Police is yet to confirm the nature of the blast, preliminary investigations said that it seems a police vehicle was the target. The authorities have shifted the injured to the hospital. Initial investigations also revealed that probably an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in a motorcycle. The blast led to a fire which soon spread and the fire brigade reached there and doused the flames. Eyewitnesses said that the sound of the blast was so loud that it could be heard even in faraway areas. The latest blast comes just four days after an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion took place in the Saddar area of the city which left one person dead and 13 injured. That incident is still under investigation. UNI ACL2257
